BEacon Choir
Sound and Light Installation
Beacon Choir is an interactive sound and light installation built for play, exploration and musical collaboration in a public space. Using simple hand gestures, visitors become the conductors of the choir, empowered to create ambient soundscapes and illuminate space using a pallet of sounds stored within 12 beacons. The piece is built using hand-made electronics, Arduino, infrared tracking technology, 3D printed shapes and handmade wood objects. The interaction takes place within custom built software in Max MSP and triggers a bespoke sound world composed by myself.
